DHK conducted a study to assess building deterioration at the Erich Lindeman Mental Health Center and the Charles F. Hurley Building. The study addressed leakage and water damage in the building envelope (e.g., roofing, concrete facades, and windows) An assessment and documentation of the current conditions was completed to identify the severity, extent and causes of the problems and to prepare repair options with preferred solutions for the buildings’ envelopes. The design team investigated the roofing systems, concrete elements and horizontal strip windows. A consensus solution was developed with DCAMM and programmed towards a phased approach.
